SYNERGY is a team of Mental Health professionals who aspire to work in collaboration with schools for the enhancement of mental and emotional well being of the children and adolescents.
Synergy represents positive attitude to bring the best out of an individual. We create ambience in which individual does not need to earn approval, since they are freely given unconditional positive regard- the experience of receiving warmth, respect, acceptance, trust from others simply for being who they are.
The main aim of synergy team is to make children perform better in all walks of life by acquiring psychological competence; finding solutions to day to day problems; coping with different situations in life; performing well in different spheres of life; creating a positive attitude; identifying capability and improving ability.
Past Events
Synergy was established in November 2009 with the objective to cater the emotional, educational and behavioral issues of children of all ages, to spread awareness about the child's world among parents, teachers and other professionals and to promote the positive mental health in children and adolescents with concern for laying a foundation for better adulthood. Synergy is one of its own kind in this area. It was established in association with Dr. Narender Gupta, Director Gupta Hospital. The Synergy mental health professionals share the common dream to work with children by creating a beautiful world where they are more resilient, emotionally stable, and compassionate.
The team at centre has expertise in screening, assessment, diagnosis and specific intervention for children and adolescents facing challenges. More than 1200 children with different disorders such as Dyslexia, Hyperactivity, Inattention, fear/phobia, exam stress, relationship and teenage issues have availed the services of Synergy. These cases are benefited with specialized intervention programmes such as special education, enhancing attention span, play therapy, PCIT, behavior modification, counseling, psycho education and positive and effective parenting.
During its tenure of Synergy has conducted workshops in schools for sensitization, screening and identification of children's academic and behavioral problems. The workshops have been conducted in different schools from time to time. Synergy has organized free camp with an association with 92.5 Big FM on children's day with the objective to screen problems of children and subsequently guide and help the parents regarding that. Different types of issues related to disciplining, academic, career were targeted. Some of the cases were further referred for assessments or counseling.
The free helpline number was launched at the centre for students during exams days for examination stress. It was found that many students weighed down by expectations. Comparisons, parental expectations and peer pressure are major concerns for students attempting their board exams. These concerns bog students down, leading to severe examination stress. Students were helped out through different techniques to overcome the stressors.
Number of students and parents have availed this service.
One month Clinical Exposure programme is being conducted for Post Graduate students of psychology. The internship programme covers the Clinical Disorders of children and adults. Till date 6 batches have successfully completed the programme.
Synergy has organized a workshop on Good Touch Bad Touch - A Body Safety Programme In association with Dainik Bhaskar. More than 200 kids with age ranging between 8-11 years participated in this workshop. The objective was to create awareness among children regarding sexual abuse and to train them in preventive skills against bad/unwanted touches. The concept was imparted through play way methods. The workshop entails exhibition and parental discussions about the protection of children from sexual abuse. The awareness is also created through print media as regular and consistent articles are published in news papers and magazines.
Smarter kids & Smarter teens was conducted for children & adolescents of age rangning 7 to 13 years.
This program was designed by the team to inculcate the qualities which will lead to healthier coping strategies and enhancing the existing skills.
